OVERHEADS ON TOUR
Performance Bicycle Tour and Join-in action
Ray Vibration produce sound, noise and visuals with kinetic objects on daylight projectors. The collective from Cologne shows in the performances musical real time films, which appeal to ears and eyes. With Ray Vibration, science and art meet: circuits inspired by brain science drive minimal robots and kinetic machines. These are combined with self-built instruments and analogous synthesizers and produce movement and sound. On the daylight projector, random principle and control blend, spectacular pictures and sounds are produced here and now. For DAS DETROIT-PROJEKT, Ray Vibration invite to a nighttime bicycle tour. During the 2-hour tour of the city, an extraordinary light and sound performance is staged in selected parts of the city.
Ray Vibration (Ralf Schreiber, Christian Faubel and Tina Tonagel) have been developing (until 2013 under the name “Kunst und Musik mit dem Tageslichtprojektor“) experimental audiovisual performances with overhead projectors, minimal robotics and analogous sound production since 2007. They have realized exhibitions, concerts and workshops, such as in the context of EMAF Osnabrück, HMKV Dortmund, transmediale Berlin, Skankaloss Festival Sweden, Media Art Flow Festival Almelo, Museum Schloss Moyland, Cuba Kultur Münster, Brückenmusik Köln, Pixxelpoint Festival Slovenia, Monitoring Dokfest Kassel, Trendelenburg Gijón Spain.
