De Warme Winkel causes a sensation nationally and internationally with witty, cheeky and intelligent performances on a wide variety of themes. They plagiarised Pina Bausch's Café Müller in De Warme Winkel plays De Warme Winkel, they settled accounts with repertory theatre during a performance by Ivo van Hove in Achterkant, they marked a turning point for the climate in Vincent Rietveld gaat voor de Louis d'Or, they heated up the (sexual) identity debate in Lady Chatterley's Lover and they pulverised attendance records at Amsterdam's Bostheater with De Drie Musketiers. In late 2021, they released a feature film of the same name, but radically adapted, in collaboration with director Sam de Jong. In autumn 2021 they toured the Netherlands and Belgium with the performance Een oprechte ode aan de Ironie, sharing the stage with reality TV stars from Temptation Island, among others.

In the middle of the first lockdown, they built the Peepshow Palace in Amsterdam, a corona-proof theatre where the audience could sit in a disinfected private booth. Vincent Rietveld, Ward Weemhoff and Florian Myjer form the artistic core of the company, but around them circle many relatives who are also part of the group's DNA.

In the 2022/2023 season, De Warme Winkel will be seen with Der Bus nach Dachau, directed by Vincent Rietveld and Ward Weemhoff.
