Veronika Nickl, born in Munich, studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart from 1985 to 1989. Since 1990 she received classical vocal training with Birgit Lang in Munich, Ella Pesty in Ludwigsburg and Ulrike Schubert in Bochum. Her first engagement took her to the Städtische Bühnen Frankfurt from 1989 to 1990, from 1990 to 1993 she was a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Stuttgart. Guest engagements at the Berliner Ensemble and Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus followed, before she was a member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Darmstadt from 1996 to 1999 and at the Theater Dortmund from 1999 to 2003. Since 2005 she has been a member of the Schauspielhaus Bochum ensemble. She has worked with directors such as Einar Schleef, Michael Gruner, Wolf-Dietrich Sprenger, Herrmann Schmidt-Rahmer, Elmar Goerden and Lisa Nielebock. In 2001 she was awarded the prize for Best Actress at the NRW Theatertreffen. Since 2015 she has been working with the Salonorchester der Bochumer Symphoniker.
