Vincent Riebeek, born in the Netherlands in 1988, studied choreography at the SNDO (School for New Dance Development) and subsequently completed a master's degree in theatre at the DAS Theatre (Dutch Academy for the Performing Arts), both at the Amsterdam University of the Arts. His work moves between dance, theatre and visual art, questioning common aesthetics and social norms around authorship, taste and representation. Rooted in academic training and subcultural contexts, his practice combines diverse influences and collaborative working methods.
He has worked with Florentina Holzinger, Choy Ka Fai, Michele Rizzo, Astrit Ismaili, the Young Boy Dancing Group and numerous emerging artists. In addition to his own work, he regularly works as a dramaturg, artistic advisor and director, and his performances have been shown internationally.
In addition to his artistic practice, Vincent Riebeek is involved in the queer and sex worker movements and develops workshops and educational formats together with activist Maxima Caram, most recently at Queer Pride Amsterdam and in collaboration with the UN.
