Emily Welther, born in Arizona and raised in Vermont (USA), grew up in a family of musicians and began learning the violin, piano and singing at an early age. She studied acting at the Experimental Theatre Wing of New York University, as well as dance and choreography at the European Dance Development Centre in Arnhem (ArtEZ), where she also completed her Master’s degree in Performance Practices in 2021. She has lived in Germany since 2004 and works as a freelancer in the independent arts scene in Cologne and across Europe. She collaborates regularly with Barbara Fuchs / tanzfuchs PRODUKTION. In her own work, movement, voice and language meet acoustic and electronic instruments in playful and sonic experiments.
