Sachiko Hara grew up in Fukuoka (Japan). She studied piano at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich with Michael Schäfer and Karl-Hermann Mrongovius. In addition to the classical repertoire, she devotes herself to contemporary music and experimental music. She has been a guest several times with different ensembles for new music and has performed theatre music for the Munich Kammerspiele, the Ruhrtriennale, Schauspielhaus Zurich and Staatstheater Stuttgart. In 2009 she received the Förderpreis für Musik of the city of Munich, where she lives and works.
