Anne Cathrin Buhtz was born in Mainz in 1973. She completed her acting training at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. In 1997 she graduated with the Alfini-Syllwasschy Prize as the best actress in her graduating class. This was followed by engagements at the Staatstheater Braunschweig, Staatsschauspiel Stuttgart and Theater Erlangen. Anne Cathrin Buhtz has worked with directors such as Hasko Weber, Annette Pullen, Constanze Kreusch, Anna Maria Krassnigg, Hansjörg Utzerath and Heinz Kreidl. She has also appeared in a variety of film and television productions, including Tatort - Heimspiel and SOKO Leipzig. Anne Cathrin Buhtz has been working at Schauspiel Leipzig since the 2013/14 season.
