Brandy Butler, born in Reading, Pennsylvania, is a performance artist, musician, educator, mother and activist and spends her time creating opportunities at the intersection of art and community. She holds a bachelor's degree in jazz from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, a Master's degree in vocal pedagogy from Züricher Hochschule der Künste and completed an additional certificate in elementary music in 2022. She is an organising member of the African feminist diaspora collective Bla*sh, on the board of Helvetia Rocks, co-founder of the feminist think-tank-collective Mino, which creates new opportunities to increase the visibility of diversity in the Swiss music scene and has been active in early education and primary schools for over 15 years.
