Johan Leysen, born in Hasselt (Belgium) in 1950, works as an actor in Belgian and Dutch theatres. He has appeared in more than 130 films and television programmes since 1977 and has received several prizes. In 1998 he won the Dutch film prize Golden Calf as Best Actor for his role in the film Felice...Felice.... He collaborated with theatre directors such as Guy Cassiers, Johan Simons, Heiner Goebbels and Milo Rau. At the Schauspielhaus Bochum he performs in the production Orest in Mossul directed by Milo Rau.
