Philipp Becker, born 1979, studied theatre, film and television sciences at the University of Cologne and acting direction at the Otto-Falckenberg-Schule, Munich. He works as a director and deputy head of the acting department at the Zurich University of the Arts. He directs at state and city theatres, for festivals and the independent scene in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Benelux countries - and again and again at Theater Lindenhof, where he first appeared on stage at the age of eleven. Most recently he worked as a director at the Thalia Theater Hamburg and the Staatstheater Stuttgart. At the Schauspielhaus Bochum he will stage the world premiere of Gerhild Steinbuch's Was glänzt in the 2018/19 season.
