Henrike Commichau studied acting at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich until 2017. While still a student, she created independent performative works and founded the theatre duo hashtagmonike with Mona Vojacek Koper.

From 2018 to 2024, she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Theaterhaus Jena, where she developed plays such as Friendship Never Ends, which was invited to the Mülheim Theatre Festival in 2023. In 2022, she was a fellow of the International Forum as part of the Berlin Theatre Meeting.

In 2024, she was invited to the Theatertreffen with the play Die Hundekot-Attacke, which she co-wrote. The production received the 3sat Prize and was voted Production of the Year.

In February 2025, hashtagmonike collaborated with young people to develop the play Princess Island at stellwerk Weimar, which was invited to the JES Clubtopia Festival. In January 2026, Weiße Rose – Stimmen des Widerstands (White Rose – Voices of Resistance) premiered in co-production with the German National Theatre Weimar.

Commichau can also be seen in the second season of the ZDF series Fett und Fett.

In 2026, she will perform in new works with her collective Post Paradies at the Munich Kammerspiele and at HAU Hebbel am Ufer in Berlin.

Since 2018, Henrike Commichau has been a regular guest at the Schauspielhaus Bochum in Don't Worry Be Yoncé.
