MAISON the FAUX, founded in 2014 by Tessa de Boer and Joris Suk, is a creative studio posing as a grand couture fashion house. With their fictional fashion house, Tessa de Boer and Joris Suk give a response to the current fashion system and hold up a mirror to the fashion world. For each project, MAISON the FAUX works together with like-minded creatives who want to shake up the fashion scene by creating space for young designers and innovating in design and production. The work of MAISON the FAUX is determined by it’s multi disciplinary approach. The result are fashion collections, products, shows and performances. MAISON the FAUX has shown their work during fashion week in New York, Paris, Japan, Los Angeles and Guangzhou (China) and celebrities like Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande were spotted in their clothing.
Over the past years MAISON the FAUX has been working on various projects in the theatre and art world. The studio works on costume, exhibition and interior design projects for museums and theatres in and outside of the Netherlands. At Schauspielhaus Bochum they realise the costume design for Liliane Brakema‘s staging of Leonce und Lena in the 2018/19 season.
