Matthias Jakisic, born in 1977 in St. Pölten, is an Austrian composer and musician, known for his versatile work in theatre, dance, film, and international music projects. He has been active in the music industry since the age of seventeen, initially as a live musician and later increasingly in studio work. During this time, he contributed to over 100 recordings and collaborated with artists such as Christian Eigner (Depeche Mode), Al Slavik (Alphaville), and Bauchklang. A key phase in his career was his eight-year engagement at the Burgtheater in Vienna, where he worked with directors including Peter Stein, Georg Schmidleitner, Herbert Fritsch, and Jette Steckel. In addition, he has worked at Salzburg Festival, Münchner Kammerspiele, Volkstheater Vienna, Theater in der Josefstadt, Thalia Theater Hamburg, and many other venues. International concert appearances have taken him to over 40 countries, including the Sydney Opera House, ACF London, and festivals such as the Jazz Festival Istanbul and the Rio Cello Festival. Matthias Jakisic collaborates again with Jette Steckel and appears at Schauspielhaus Bochum in the production Das große Heft.
