Friederike Becht, born 1986 in Bad Bergzabern, studied acting at the Berlin University of the Arts from 2004 to 2008. She has worked as a freelance theatre actress at the Ernst Deutsch Theater Hamburg, the Schauspielhaus Zürich, the Berliner Ensemble and the Stadttheater Freiburg. In 2007 she was nominated as the best young actress by the magazine Theater heute for her role as Thekla in Peter Stein's Wallenstein at the Berliner Ensemble. In the 2009/2010 season she was a member of the ensemble at Schauspiel Essen. In the following season she moved to the Schauspielhaus Bochum with artistic director Anselm Weber. In 2014 she received the Bochum Theatre Prize in the category of young talent. In 2015 she received the Ulrich-Wildgruber-Prize. She also works as an actress in film and television productions. In the 2019/2020 season she can be seen in the production Ein Fest für Mackie, the co-production between the Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Bochumer Symphoniker on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the two institutions.
