Marilena Büld, born in Cologne in 1992, studied stage and costume design at the Kunsthochschule in Berlin Weiensee and has since worked as a freelance stage and costume designer for the Schauspielhaus Graz, the Volkstheater Rostock, the Landestheater in Neuss, the Ballhaus Ost and the Sophiensaele in Berlin. After graduating from high school, she initially worked as a stage design intern at Schauspiel Köln in 2012/2013. There she worked on productions of Katie Mitchell, Anna Viebrock and Karin Beier. She also collaborated with the performance collective Virtuelles Theater and assisted the set designer Aleksander Dénic with the Berliner Ensemble. In addition to her work in theatre, she worked as a scene and costume designer for various films and developed my own kind together with director Mirjam Khera, who was nominated for the German Short Film Award in 2019. At Schauspielhaus Bochum her stage design can be seen during the 2019/20 season in Florian Fischer's production Geister in Zeche Eins.
