Ulrike Krumbiegel, born 1961 in Berlin, studied at the Staatliche Schauspielschule Ernst Busch in Berlin. She already gained great attention in her first year of study with her role of the waiter's apprentice Anja in the TV film Komm mit mir nach Chicago (1982) directed by Bodo Fürneisen. After that, the young actress received numerous offers. After completing her studies, she began her acting career at the Schwerin Theatre. From 1986 she belonged to the permanent ensemble of the Deutsches Theater Berlin for 15 years. After that, she worked as a freelance actress at various German theatres, including the Münchner Kammerspiele and the Residenztheater in Munich.
