Jordy Vogelzang, born in 1991, graduated from the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam in 2017 with the self-written performance De Vier Laatste Dingen, co-directed by Johan Simons. In his last schoolyear Vogelzang completed an internship at Het Nationale Theater in the piece Jeanne d’Arc by Friedrich Schiller, and for this part he was nominated for the “Guido de Moorprijs”, prize for promising young talent. After graduation Jordy founded together with Babette Engels the theatre company Studio Danish Blue. In 2018/2019 they received the 3PackageDeal by the Amsterdamse Fonds voor de Kunst; a special grant for outstanding artists in Amsterdam. With Studio Danish Blue they made several performances coproduced by the most renowned theatre productions houses in the Netherlands: Frascati Amsterdam and Theater Rotterdam. They performed in theaters and festivals such as Motel Mozaïque and Over het IJ Festival. Besides self-produced work he also worked as an actor in pieces such as Nachtwerk and Tiramisù at Frascati Amsterdam, Phaedra’s Love (Directors Academy) or Narziss Hildegard Goldmund (Zuidelijk Toneel). Vogelzang also works as a playwright, furthermore he writes, produces and acts for television, like NTR Klokhuis.
