Michael Saup, born 1961 in Hechingen / Hohenzollern, studied music, computer science and visual communication at the Dominican University of San Rafael, USA, the Hochschule Furtwangen and the Hochschule für Gestaltung Offenbach am Main. Since the 80s he has been experimenting with the artistic development of software and interactive interfaces. The artist, filmmaker and musician is one of the pioneers of computer-aided art. His artistic work can not be assigned to a genre. He combines sound, light and space into dynamic works of art. His works are represented worldwide in exhibitions, at festivals and on international stages, for example at Ars Electronica Linz and Spiral Art Center Tokyo. Saup has been teaching at numerous universities since 1989, including at the Karlsruhe School of Design and the Zurich University of the Arts.
