Felix Knopp, born in Gelsenkirchen in 1975, studied at the Westfälische Schauspielschule Bochum and made his debut in 1999 at the Schauspielhaus Bochum in Maß für Maß, directed by Leander Haußmann.
From 2001 to 2011, Knopp was a member of the ensemble at the Thalia Theatre in Hamburg, where he worked with directors such as Andreas Kriegenburg, Michael Talke, René Pollesch, Michael Thalheimer and Stephan Kimmig. In 2003, he was named Young Actor of the Year by the magazine Theater heute. After eight years as a freelance actor (including at the Deutsches Theater Berlin and the Schauspielhaus Hamburg), he was once again a permanent member of the ensemble at the Thalia Theater from 20/21 to 25/26.
Knopp has also appeared in various television series and films, including Tatort, K3 – Kripo Hamburg and Die Rettungsflieger. He is also active as a musician and developed a concert evening called My Darkest Star – a trip along Depeche Mode. This led to the 2011 theatre production Draußen vor der Tür (directed by Luk Perceval), which won the Golden Mask award for the Best Foreign Production Presented in Russia in 2013.
In the 2025/2026 season, he returns to Schauspielhaus Bochum for Catarina oder Von der Schönheit, Faschisten zu töten (Catarina or The Beauty of Killing Fascists).
