Franziska Dittrich was born in Dresden in 1988 and lives in Berlin. From 2008 to 2012 she studied Contemporary Puppetry at Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin. Since 2011 she works as a freelancing puppeteer and actress for theatre, for instance for Schauspiel Leipzig, Schauspiel Dortmund, Theater Chemnitz, film and television. She is co-founder of the Retrofuturisten, a company for modern puppet theatre based in Berlin. Their productions emerge in cooperation with theatres and independent venues as well as in coproduction with international partners. She is also part oft the Salon Kollektiv, which organizes the performative series Dystopian Salon in Berlin since 2015. Cooperations and guest shows on festivals took her to South Africa, Indonesia, Jordan, France, Italy, Switzerland and Austria.
