Victoria Behr, born 1979 in Koblenz, studied costume design at the University of Applied Sciences in Hamburg. After her studies she assisted at the Schauspielhaus Bochum, the Schauspielhaus Zurich and at the Salzburg Festival. Since 2008 she works as a freelance costume designer. She works closely with director Herbert Fritsch at the Thalia Theater Hamburg, Schauspiel Köln, Schauspielhaus Zürich, Residenztheater München, Deutsche Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Det Kongelige Teater Kopenhagen, Burgtheater Wien, Opernhaus Zürich, Komische Oper Berlin, Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg Platz and Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz in Berlin, among others. In collaboration with the director Antú Romero Nunes, productions are created at the Burgtheater Vienna, the Thalia Theater Hamburg, the Bavarian State Opera and the Berliner Ensemble. Victoria Behr works with Barrie Kosky at the Komische Oper Berlin and the Salzburg Festival. For director Benedict Andrews she designs costumes at the Young Vic Theatre in London, the Copenhagen Opera, the Komische Oper Berlin, the Amsterdam Opera and the English National Opera ENO. With director Niklaus Helbling, Victoria Behr has worked at the Schauspielhaus Zurich, the Burgtheater in Vienna. She worked as well with the directors Jan Bosse (Bavarian State Opera Munich), Peter Carp, Matthias Hartmann (Zurich Opera House / Burgtheater Vienna / Salzburg Festival), Marcus Lobbes (Theater Freiburg) and Stefan Pucher (Deutsches Theater Berlin). For her designs for Herbert Fritsch's productions Nora, Die (s)panische Fliege and derdiemann, she was named costume designer of the year in 2011, 2012 and 2014 in the critics' survey of Theater heute magazine. For her costumes for Frau Luna at the Berliner Volksbühne as well as for Peter Eötvös's Three Sisters in Zurich she will be voted costume designer of the year by the magazine Opernwelt in 2013. At Schauspielhaus Bochum her costume designs can be seen in Herbert Fritsch's production Murmel Murmel.
