Anna Stiepani, born in Passau in 1989, completed her studies in Theatre, Film and Media Studies at the University of Vienna. She worked as an assistant director at the Salzburg Landestheater and especially at the Vienna Burgtheater and the Salzburg Festival, where she assisted Leander Haußmann, Herbert Fritsch, Antu Romero Nunes, David Bösch, Stefan Bachmann and several times Johan Simons. She showed her first directing works in 2013 at the Nuremberg Chamber Music Festival and the Salzburg Landestheater (The Diary of Anne Frank). In 2019 she directed the Austrian premiere of Beben by Maria Milisavljevic in the vestibule of the Vienna Burgtheater. Since the 2019/2020 season she has been working as assistant and director at the Schauspielhaus Bochum, where she most recently assisted Johan Simons with Ivanow. In the 2019/20 season she is realising the project Ich ist ein Robinson. Bochumer Inselgeschichten.
