Kathrin Brüggemann, born in 1983, completed an editorial traineeship at the Mediengruppe Stegenwaller in Essen after studying communications and German at the University of Duisburg-Essen. She then worked as an editor for various consumer magazines from Hubert Burda Media for six years and, in 2015, she moved to the staff department for communications at the Diocese of Essen. There she works as an editor for the diocesan magazine BENE. She gained her first experience in front of the camera as an extra in a commercial for the Stadtwerke Düsseldorf and in the cinema production Beziehungen - kein schöner Land by director Alexander Waldhelm.
