Benjamin Lillie, born in Siegburg in 1985, studied acting at the Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy University of Music and Theatre in Leipzig, where he was subsequently also a member of the ensemble for one year. From 2013/14 he went to the Deutsches Theater Berlin, where he met Christopher Rüping, with whom he has had a close working relationship ever since. At the Deutsches Theater he has also worked with directors such as Karin Henkel, Sebastian Hartmann, René Pollesch, Stefan Pucher, Jette Steckel, Stefan Kimmig and Bastian Kraft and played roles such as Woyzeck, Romeo, Hans Castorp and Biff Lomann. He received the Grimme Award in 2017 for his performance in the feature film Dead Man Working.
