Steve Dugardin, born in 1964 in Ostend (Belgium), graduated in music theory at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent and, subsequently, in singing at the Royal Flemish Conservatory in Antwerp. As a counter-tenor he took part in productions conducted by Sigiswald Kuijken, Jos van Immerseel, Ton Koopman, Gustav Leonhardt, Frans Brüggen and Philippe Herreweghe. He has been working with the Ricercar Consort, Clemencic Consort, Tragicomedia, Il Seminario Musicale, Les Arts Florissants, Il Fondamento, Huelgas Ensemble, Choeur de Chambre de Namur, Currende, Ex Tempore, La Petite Bande, Musica Antiqua Köln, Das Nederlandse Bachvereniging, the Bach-ensemble and others. He also is participating in opera-productions. In the 2018/19 season he is singing in Johan Simons production Gift at Schauspielhaus Bochum.
