Payam Yazdani, born in 1994 in Hamburg, gained early stage experience in various theater groups and youth clubs. He studied business administration and spent nearly two years in the USA and New Zealand after completing his bachelor’s degree. Upon returning to Germany, he completed a master’s degree with a focus on marketing. In parallel, starting in 2021, he studied acting at the Thomas Bernhard Institute at the Mozarteum University Salzburg. During his studies, he was already engaged at the Junges SchauSpielHaus Hamburg.

For his performance in the production das schweigende Mädchen (The Silent Girl), Payam Yazdani received the Solo Prize at the 2024 German-Speaking Drama School Competition. Together with his class, he was also awarded the Ensemble Prize Switzerland and the Audience Award for the same production and was nominated for the 2025 Günther-Rühle-Preis. In 2025, he additionally received the Boy Gobert Prize from the Körber Foundation.

Since the 2025/2026 season, Payam Yazdani has been a member of the ensemble at Schauspielhaus Bochum and continues to appear as a guest at the Junges SchauSpielHaus Hamburg.
