Nora Schlocker, born in 1983 in Rum, Austria, is a director. She studied at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin. From 2008 to 2011 she was resident director at the Deutsches Nationaltheater Weimar, from 2011 to 2014 at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus. She has also worked at the Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin, Schauspielhaus Wien, Schauspiel Stuttgart, Residenztheater, Centraltheater Leipzig, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Deutsches Theater Berlin and Staatsschauspiel Dresden. From 2015 to 2019, she was resident director at Theater Basel. There she premiered plays by Ewald Palmetshofer, among others: Edward II. Die Liebe bin ich after Christopher Marlowe, created as a co-production with Schauspielhaus Wien and Wiener Festwochen and invited to the Swiss Theatertreffen 2016, as well as Vor Sonnenaufgang after Gerhart Hauptmann, invited to the 43rd Mülheimer Theatertage NRW and the Heidelberger Stückemarkt 2018.
Since the 2019/2020 season, she has been in-house director at the Residenztheater, where her productions have already included Die Verlorenen, Vor Sonnenaufgang, Superspreader, and Der Kreis um die Sonne.
