Anita Ackva, born in Domodossola (Italy) in 1990, studied architecture and scenography in Karlsruhe and Dortmund and worked primarily as an architect and exhibition planner until 2018.

She came to the theater in 2018 when, while still a student, she worked for a season as an assistant set designer at Schauspiel Dortmund, where she also created her first own set design for Delirium zu Zweit auf unbestimmt Zeit directed by Paolo Magelli (2019) and later her first set design work for Die Not steht ihr gut directed by Lola Fuchs (2023).

In addition to her work as a set designer and assistant set designer, she also works as a scenographer (Sommer am U, 2021) and location scout (Geranien, directed by Tanja Egen, 2023).

Since the 2021/22 season, she has been working as a permanent stage design assistant at Schauspielhaus Bochum.
