Dorothea Neweling

Dorothea Neweling, born in 1963 in Bochum, studied history and art history at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum until 1992. After working for publishing houses, including Schöffling & Co. in Frankfurt am Main, she has been part of the dramaturgy team of the Ruhrtriennale since the first edition of the Festival of the Arts in 2002 under founding director Gerard Mortier. Since then she has worked with the various directors of the festival and various international artists, most recently on the highly acclaimed drama production Urban Prayers Ruhr by Björn Bicker and Malte Jelden and the music theatre production Cosmopolis after Don DeLillo, both directed by Johan Simons. Since the 2018/2019 season she is a dramaturg at Schauspielhaus Bochum.
