Tianzhuo Chen is considered the enfant terrible of the Chinese art scene. His atmospheric installations mix religious pictorial traditions of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Christianity with the exuberant eccentricity of a globalized Internet pop culture. Japanese Butoh dance meets hip-hop poses, queer aesthetics, rave culture, and digital codes become a psychedelic picture rush. In Bochum, Tianzhuo Chen shows the world premiere of his new work Against the Blade of Honour.

The installation  will be created on 26 January as part of an approximately eight-hour performance in the Oval Office, during which live filming will take place. The performance will be open to the public between 16:00 and 20:00.
