Text
And finally it‘s time again: Let the Good Times Roll in Bochum! To live but not to love, forced to love but need to die – what to do when your heart is broken? Romeo and Juliet have been looking for the answer for 428 years now.
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Shakespeare Weeks in Hückeswagen near Wuppertal (held every 100 years – don't miss it!), we are delighted to welcome the cultural association for the preservation of Early Modern English from Kleppersfeld with its centenary production of Romeo and Juliet.
The costumes and stage sets are ready to be shipped, so now all that's left to do is Sitting, Waiting, Wishing until the curtain rises on 24th of October for the couple that was never meant to be.
After Die Hermannsschlacht – but with different lyrics and different melody, director Barbara Bürk and musician, actor and director Clemens Sienknecht return to Bochum.
They are continuing their series of musical theatre evenings in which they dust off classics of world literature with a wink and lots of music. Or as Taylor Swift would say: It's a love story, baby, just say ‘Yes’.
