To kick off the series In der Stadt with productions outside the theatre, the young director Judith Skupien will go to the Electronic Music Club Schumacher near the main station. There she dedicates herself to the life trip of a man, freely based on the fairy tale The Tin Soldier by Hans Christian Andersen. In Andersen's story, a one-legged tin soldier falls in love with a paper dancer before he is taken on a threatening adventure. At the end of this adventure he meets the Paper Dancer again, but their encounter has no future. In the adaptation of the fairy tale for adults by Judith Skupien, assistant director of the Schauspielhaus, the story becomes a universal journey through life in a club atmosphere, accompanied by live electronic music. A frenzy of doing nothing, a dance on one leg. There stands one, a soldier, an actor, a club visitor - who apparently does nothing. Immobile, steady. But maybe that's just what he's doing: resisting. What controls this body, which seems untouched by life until he falls in love - an inner or an outer voice? A trip from drama and music from 16 years and above.
