Long live the imagination! Who of us does not sometimes wish we could suspend time and turn it backwards or forwards (depending on our biographical situation)? Who doesn't long for the famous magic hat in embarrassing moments that lets you take a breath before continuing with the madness called life - in short: who does not miss the belief that everything is possible? That everything will be all right in the end? But we had to realise: Nothing gets better, only different. Let's face it: the end of childhood is a scandal.

On the other hand, what if childhood never ends, if you cannot escape it, hide in it forever, like Peter Pan? And, in view of the state of the world, shrugging his shoulders, says: I didn't do it!

Is our fantasy always as cheerful and innocent as we claim? Do we not also know its destructive side, has it not often tormented us? Are we better off without it in the end? Finally, no more being at the mercy of the nightmare full of rotten giants! Finally, no longer stumbling through the dark valley full of inexplicable mysteries, but applying logic and laws and sunbath in the ray of light of enlightenment. Finally, be grown up. To be guilty. –

Oh, if only everything could be so easily separated ...

The siblings Imre and Marne van Opstal are a creative duo who, after a successful dance career at the Nederlands Dans Theater and the Batsheva Dance Company, make the stages of Europe excitingly unsafe with choreographic works between dance, theatre, performance and visual arts. Their works are rich in imagery, vital and multi-layered, their dance language is original, theatrical and outspoken. Again and again they forge new connections between bodies and texts, music and images, collaborate with film, fashion, design and installation. At the Schauspielhaus Bochum, they are entering new territory: they let dancers and actors meet and conquer a text together. Because what you cannot talk about, you have to dance about.
